Who We Are

Resistance School Session 2 123.jpg

Resistance School aims to deepen community-based organizing infrastructure nationwide in order to secure issue and electoral victories at the local, state, and national level and advance progressive values of fairness, equity, and inclusivity. Through high-quality training for both those new to organizing and those who want to deepen their skills, Resistance School aims to amplify communities’ capacity to lead and make the sustained change they seek.  We believe that the power of collective action can break through barriers that undermine the people’s access to democracy.

Resistance School was founded by graduate students at Harvard, who wanted to find a way to contribute to the wave of new and renewed political activism in communities across the country. The curriculum was designed for groups to join trainings held on Harvard’s campus and live-streamed online to communities across the country.

Resistance School invites you to join with neighbors, friends, or classmates to participate in live-streamed trainings with renowned political campaigners, communicators, organizers, and academics. The skills they will showcase are critical to amplifying our collective impact.

Our team includes community and labor organizers; advocates for human rights, campaign finance reform, and veterans’ affairs; former staffers for Obama, Sanders, and Clinton presidential election campaigns; and journalists.

*Resistance School is an independently organized project developed by students at Harvard University.  It is not an official course or offering of Harvard University or any of its schools.
